Individual counseling is when a person meets with a counselor 1-on-1 for support and to work through challenges they are facing. We know it can seem intimidating or embarrassing to meet with a counselor for the first time. Our goal for the first session is to let you get to know us better, give us a chance to start to get to know you, and talk about what your goals are for counseling. We decide together what is important to talk about and if we would be a good fit to work together.
Appointments tend to be between 50-60 minutes. During this time, we work together to address your concerns, regardless if they are something from the past week, from your past, or about your future. Sometimes patterns might emerge and we can talk about that, too.
